COPY NOTE: Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy Q.403.94 FOLIO imperfect: nn5 and nn6 (both blank) wanting; X5, Z3.4 (double-page woodcut), f1, and g3 inserted from another copy or copies, as determined by smaller leaf size and lack of rubrication, which is otherwise consitent throughout. Woodcuts hand-colored. Initials, headlines, and capital swashes rubricated in red. Fourth leaves of many gatherings signed in an early hand. Leaf dimensions: 299 x 311.
PROVENANCE: Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy Q.403.94 FOLIO with dealers' notes and codes at front and back. Early/contemporary marginal annotations, in various hands, throughout. Acquired in March, 1943.
BINDING: Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy Q.403.94 FOLIO bound in ca. 16th-century blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards. Original bosses, cornerpieces, clasps, and catch plates removed. Spine unlabeled. Leaves from a medieval gradual or antiphonary serve as pastedowns.
